KALLE MARTTILA, bass
INTRODUCED BY MARKO LYDEN
The first time I met Kalle was in high
school on our first music course. He actually didn´t know anything
about playing bass then. Kim and I thought him the first steps and I
could say that we started some snowball effect. Kalle turned out to
be an extremely musical person and learned very quickly. We had had troubles finding bass player to our
music projects then (If you can call them music) so Kalle was an
answer to our prays. Just after four months of playing Kalle was
already good enough to step on the stage of Pakkahuone(a gig place
at City of Tampere) in a music happening by our school. You can’t
consider that a bad achievement, can you? And the rest is history.
As a person Kalle is a truly trustworthy guy. He
does what he promises. Also when he starts to do something, he won’t
leave it half-way done. He truly concentrates on whatever he is doing(
him being a gym-freak fit the image).
How ever Kalle is mostly a quite shy guy. He
doesn´t rush into things at all and takes no chances. His role in
the band could be described as a judge, always trying to fix our
disagreements and tries to pull the sledge when the rest of us are
just trying to hang(over) on.
Just the thing I wish is that he could relax a
little sometimes and hang out with the band on his spare time not
only when we practice. Maybe the college-life will loosen him up...
At the stage he seemingly enjoys playing and
fills his own the place of the bass extremely well (especially when
he is wearing a blond wig).
